Texas Swim Academy proudly earned a spot on the Texas A&M University 2016 Aggie 100 list, ranking no. 74 among their top 100 peers. The list, presented by Texas A&M's Center for New Ventures and Entrepreneurship in the Mays Business School, recognizes the 100 fastest-growing Aggie-owned or -managed businesses in the world.
Companies on the list are ranked by compound annual revenue grown from 2013 to 2015, and Texas Swim Academy saw a growth of 35.48 percent, earning them the 74th spot on this year's list.
Bruce McMordie, owner of Texas Swim Academy, and 1978 Aggie alum with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering from the Moody College of Marine Sciences and Maritime Resources, shared this about Texas Swim Academy's success, “Take advantage of every resource available to you. People will love to invest if you are excited to learn.”
The evening awards gala was held on November 11 at the Hall of Champions at Texas A&M's football stadium, Kyle Field. The honorees were joined by employees, faculty, administrators, current students and fellow entrepreneurs to celebrate their success.
Bruce's Aggie alum sons, William, who earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Supply Chain Management in 2015, and Robert, who earned his Bachelor of Science in University Studies in 2012, accepted the award on behalf of Texas Swim Academy.
“It is great to be recognized by Texas A&M because they make a big effort to have a successful and innovative alumni base,” says William. “So to be included in the top 100 of this group of businesses is a really big honor.”
Qualifications for the awards included companies be at least five years old, have a revenue of $250,000 or more for 2013 and have operations consistent with the Aggie Code of Honor. They also must have met one of the following leadership criteria: 1.) A Texas A&M former student or group of former students must have owned 50 percent or more of the company; 2.) A Texas A&M former student must have served as the company's chief executive; or 3.)
