Texas Swim Academy Sponsors Annual Graeme’s Run

At Texas Swim Academy, we’re more than just a swim school. We’re also a family, and we proudly support each other in big and small ways. Graeme McDaniel, a vibrant 2-year-old who was a Texas Swim Academy student, passed away on May 3, 2015, due to multiple heart conditions he battled since his birth. This year we are excited to once again be a sponsor of the 5th annual Graeme’s Run, which was established in his honor to raise funds to help support other heart families.

Graeme’s Run begins at No Label Brewery in Katy on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020, at 9 a.m. Late registration begins at 8 a.m. if you haven’t had the chance to register already. And the best news is 100 percent of your registration fee goes directly to The Children’s Heart Foundation, in honor of Graeme, to help all heart families enduring this tough battle.

Stephanie McDaniel, Graeme’s mom, had Graeme, his older brother Mason, and younger sister Jules enrolled in swimming lessons at Texas Swim Academy since they were surrounded by water when they were at their grandparents’ houses. Stephanie says she just wanted them prepared in case anything ever happened and they were in a situation that threatened their safety.

When we welcome families to Texas Swim Academy, we look forward to seeing how they will progress throughout lessons and become strong swimmers as they grow older. Losing Graeme at a young age was a difficult loss for us, as everyone who comes to Texas Swim Academy becomes a part of our close-knit family.

We consider it a privilege to support the McDaniel family and honor Graeme by sponsoring his annual Katy run. We hope to see you there!
